Surviving the Water

What if? What if that drowning could have been prevented? What if? What if that person was still alive? What if? What if that child or teen had a chance? What if that parent or guardian or teacher or companion could have made a change in that one day, that day that changed the life of many?

What if?

Now, you can. You can make the difference in a life; you can save that life. You can be there for someone. You can do it. You can be a lifesavor without ever having to take a swimming course. You can be a life saver without even ever having to go into the swimming pool. You can do it. But you need to want to do it. You need to want to discard all your fears, discard all your misconceptions about what is socially acceptable. You need to not worry if you will come across like a nerd. You will need to care only about LIFE first! Yes, care about life first and then do what is necessary for life. Do what is necessary to prevent drowning. Do what is necessary to save the life of a child or of a teen or even of an adult. Just do it.

What if you could do that? Where would you begin? What preparations would you need to make? What equipment would you need to use? Where would you need to go and how do you begin?

Right there! Right there where you are. Begin learning about water safety. And learn above all things that the one single-most important factor in saving lives at the pool or at the beach or anywhere there is water --the singlemost important factor is that you maintain CONSTANT SUPERVISION! That's it. Something as simple as that --constant supervision. Think about it. Most drownings occurred because no adult was watching. No adult was around. There was nobody at the pool except the person who was drowning. Constant supervision. How do we stop the children from drowning? Constant supervision.

Too much repetition for you? Then you simply don't care about children and you don't care about saving those little lives. Repeat it as much as possible!

Maintain constant supervision!

All the equipment and all the modern technology in the world will not stop the drowning as much as constant supervision will stop the drowning. Nobody is watching. You can not argue this fact. Nobody is watching when someone is drowning.

Please, I beg you today, maintain constant supervision!

I can not repeat this enough.

Maintain constant supervision!
