Who said cycling was not trendy? And who said that taking the bus or any motor vehicle was more practical when living or being in a city? Whoever said that should READ this article and probably CHANGE HIS MIND!
I don't know why but as soon as people or even travel agencies speak about visiting any city, they always mention bus tours... Well personally, I have never been fond of buses and I really think that touring inside a bus is totally meaningless and as funny as visiting a city through TV. You are just seated in some bus with complete strangers. Some weird chauffeur keeps on talking about the monuments on your left, then on your right, then on your left again. And at the end of the tour you just realize that you did not even understand quiet anything because he or she had a strong Irish accent, neither did you get to see the real city in 30 minutes.
Fortunately, there is something called a BIKE. It has existed for ages and is still on. It is much cheaper and far more healthy. There is no need nowadays to advertise the benefits of biking, yet I got to realize that this is not always people's first choice and especially during vacations.
If you really want to know a city, not as a mere tourist, just grab a bike and lose yourself in all the little streets where precisely your rented car or your bus would never be able to go. It appears to be so convenient and funnier. Moreover, if you are the kind to be easily lost, you should know that BIKE TOURS do exist. Well it will be as being on a bus tour, yet totally different. You have a guide - who will be speaking less because he will have to concentrate more on the road, the passer-bys and the group - a small group and bikes. Usually, people from the same group will be together with the same - nice and sportive - guide.
That is to say, through a bike tour you will be able to enjoy the sunny and cool weather seeing nice landscapes and monuments with your friends and family.
